The Power of Christ

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Cor 12:9)

Boast in my weaknesses. That certainly goes against the grain of every fleshly inclination in me to self-preserve. But those same weaknesses the enemy used in times past to shame me, are now gateways to Christ’s empowering and abiding presence.

So, boast in them I will. In fact, may this Holy Week find us all boasting in our weaknesses so that the power of Christ may rest upon and fully accomplish its purpose in us:

The power of His eternal Spirit (of holiness) [i]

The power of His selfless love [ii]

The power of His perfect obedience [iii]

The power of His flawless witness [iv]

The power of His sacrificial death [v]

The power of His resurrection [vi]

The power of His endless life [vii]

The power of His supreme authority over all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in the present age but also in the one to come . . . [viii]

Blessings!
