Searching, Searching

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter. But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2

Words, words, words. I’ve written a book’s worth of words this week in my blog . . . erased them . . . and written them again. All in an attempt to capture in words that nugget of truth hidden in a certain story in the Bible. Such a great story it is. It needs to be shared.

But as I neared the end of my writing for the third time (writing is my journaling these days), I had to ask myself, “And the point of the story is?” Ugh. It’s there. I know it, can see its shadow just beyond my reach.

As with all stories the Lord tells, there is a point to be made—multiple points, actually. Layer upon layer of truth, rich deposits waiting to be tapped into. Some just take more intentional searching to find them out.

[Things are hidden temporarily only as a means to revelation.] For there is nothing hidden except to be revealed, nor is anything [temporarily] kept secret except in order that it may be made known. If any man has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him perceive and comprehend. (Mark 4:22 – 23

So, I will keep listening and searching until I can comprehend.
